点取(てんと)り虫(むし):試験(しけん)などで点数(てんすう)をとることばかり考(かんが)えている人(ひと)。

Words and idiomatic expressions using the word, “Mushi” (insect) have a variety of meanings. We’ve included some below.

Yowa Mushi (Wimp): An easily frightened and feeble-minded person.
Naki Mushi (Crybaby): Someone who cries easily.
Benkyou no Mushi (Study bug): Someone who studies diligently.
