大晦日(おおみそか)には年越(としこ)しそばを食(た)べる風習(ふうしゅう)があります。これには、今年(ことし)一年(いちねん)の災厄(さいやく)を断(た)ち切(き)るという意味(いみ)が込(こ)められています。
