先週(せんしゅう)は原宿(はらじゅく)をご紹介(しょうかい)しました。山手線(やまのてせん)で反(はん)時計回(とけいまわ)りに移動(いどう)すると次(つぎ)は渋谷(しぶや)です。渋谷(しぶや)は日本(にほん)を代表(だいひょう)するショッピングの街(まち)で多(おお)くの大型店(おおがたてん)が肩(かた)を並(なら)べています。それを代表(だいひょう)するのが東急(とうきゅう)百貨店(ひゃっかてん)(109)や西武(せいぶ)パルコなどです。また、レストランも多(おお)く、選(えら)び放題(ほうだい)です。

渋谷(しぶや)駅前(えきまえ)には世界的(せかいてき)に有名(ゆうめい)なスクランブル交差点(こうさてん)があり、24時間(じかん)多(おお)くの人(ひと)で溢(あふ)れています。YouTubeで渋谷(しぶや)スクランブルのライブ映像(えいぞう)が配信(はいしん)されていますのでご興味(きょうみ)のある方(かた)は一度(いちど)見(み)てみてください。また、渋谷(しぶや)駅(えき)には忠犬(ちゅうけん)ハチ(はち)公(こう)の銅像(どうぞう)があり、有名(ゆうめい)な待(ま)ち合(あ)わせ場所(ばしょ)となっています。

またハロウィンにはコスチュームを着(き)た人々(ひとびと)で賑(にぎ)わうことでも有名(ゆうめい)ですが、ここ数(すう)年(ねん)はコロナの影響(えいきょう)で人(ひと)が集(あつ)まらないよう規制(きせい)されています。私(わたし)は東京(とうきょう)で時間(じかん)があるときには、渋谷(しぶや)か新宿(しんじゅく)で食事(しょくじ)をすることが多(おお)いのですが。東京(とうきょう)のカルチャーを楽(たの)しめる渋谷(しぶや)を訪(たず)ねてみるのも良(よ)いと思(おも)います。


Shibuya

Last week we introduced you to Harajuku. Moving counterclockwise on the Yamanote Line, the next station we arrive at is Shibuya. Shibuya is one of the most popular shopping areas in Japan, with many large stores lining the streets. The Tokyu Department Store (109) and Seibu Parco are representative of this area. There are also many restaurants where you can eat anything you want.

In addition, in front of Shibuya Station, there is the world famous Scramble Crossing, which is filled with many people 24 hours a day. If you are interested, you can watch live images of the Shibuya Scramble on YouTube. There is also a bronze statue of Hachiko, the loyal dog, at Shibuya station, which is used as a meeting place.

It is also famous for attracting many people in costumes during Halloween, but in the past few years it has been regulated to prevent people from gathering due to Corona. When I have time in Tokyo, I tend to spend my time in Shibuya or Shinjuku, eating and drinking. I think it is a good idea to visit Shibuya to enjoy the culture of Tokyo.
