Tokyo Olympics

The first Tokyo Olympics were scheduled for 1940. However, the event was moved to Helsinki due to the expansion of the military regime in Japan. Eventually the Helsinki Olympics were cancelled all together. The first Olympic Games in Asia were eventually held in Tokyo in 1964.

In 2020, the Tokyo Olympics were scheduled to be held, but due to the coronavirus, it was postponed until 2021. This year's postponed Tokyo Olympics are now also in danger of not being held. If the Tokyo Olympics cannot go ahead this year, they will not be postponed until next year, and will be held in 2032 at the earliest.

If one Olympic sports event is not held, there will be no Olympics for 8 years in between. If this happens, there will be many athletes who will not be able to participate and will be replaced by a new generation. I would have liked to have seen the Tokyo Olympics if I could, but the pandemic may have forced the event’s cancellation.
